Swimming - Week 1

We are half way through swimming. It is the highlight of many children's days but is taking it's toll on energy and tolerance levels! It is great to see the progress the children are already making. Thank you so much to all the parents and grandparents who have come and helped with changing or supervising at the pool. You make our jobs manageable! We really appreciate you.

Here are some photos of the children in the pool today.

Swimming

This week we have started swimming. We have become more confident in the water. Some of us are in the little pool and some of us are in the big pool. Swimming is tiring work!

Outside Woodwork

Last Friday Mrs Moylan came and took some of us for outside workwork. We loved using the real hammers. We made guitars with wood, rubberbands and nails.

Jesus Calms the Storm

Last week our Bible story was about Jesus calming the storm. We enjoyed acting out the story. Some of us were the disciples in the books, some were the waves and the storm and Lachie made a great Jesus.

Room B at Assembly

Today Room B performed a song for the whole school. Initially we were going to be leading Primary Assembly but due to a special award being given out it was changed.
We performed "Paki Paki" - a Maori action song we have been practising in class.

Please excuse the long pause before we start - unfortunately our iPad was not able to be connected as the sound people didn't have the right cord! Mrs Millar is brilliant at being flexible!!!

Shared Lunch

Today we had our first whole school buddy lunch. The big kids came to the primary lunch area and sat with us. We really enjoyed talking to them.

Buddies - Part 2!

On Wednesday Room A had their first special time with their Room F buddies. We were very excited to see them.

Buddies

On Tuesday Room B and K started Buddy Time. We will be spending time working in pairs and groups of three - getting to know "the big kids"!!!

Today we asked each other questions to get to know each other and then the Room B child read their reading book to their buddy/buddies.

Although their was some apprehension before our buddies arrived, there were smiles and giggles while we worked together.

Dominoes

Last week we had the dominoes out during morning Explore Time. The children really enjoyed lining them up and knocking them over. We used our classroom TV's to watch amazing domino runs very clever people had made.

Caleb made a really long line of dominoes.

Big Explore Time

On Friday afternoon Room A and B have big explore time. During this time we practise using our Key Competency Skills. This term we are learning about Relating To Others. Today we practised being good listeners.

Look at us working together!

Noah built an amazing car washer. We enjoyed listening to him explain how it worked.

It was so nice to play outside with the chalk after all the rain this week.
